There are several hardware configuration of the PlayBox

PlayBox Light

Based on an embedded system, the PlayBox Light is quite robust and efficient. It features a 3.5mm stereo jack for audio input and output, a 100Mbit Ethernet port with PoE capabilities and no moving part at all. The computing capabilities is well suited for simple Internet Stream playback with local playlist fallback but may suffer instabilities in case of complex audio processing chains.

PlayBox Pro

This version is a mini computer based on an Atom or Celeron fanless processor with much more processing power in order to cope with much more complex chains compared to the PlayBox Light. The motherboard is enclosed in a 2U rack-mount chassis with basic IHM on the front for simple operations and direct status reading. It features a professional audio interface with balanced 1/4” TRS jacks inputs and outputs. The network interface may be either 100Mbit or 1Gbit (it really doesn't matter) and connects to a regular 110-250V power plug
